THPTA(tris-hydroxypropyltriazolylmethylamine) is a water-soluble, veryeffective accelerating ligand for copper-catalyzed Alkyne-Azideclick chemistry reactions (CuAAC). In addition to greatly enhancingthe rate of CuAAC, THPTA minimizes perturbations to thephysiological state of the cells or organisms probed and allows forthe effective bioconjugation with suppressed cell cytotoxicity byfurther lowering Cu loading in the catalyst formulation. Thewater-soluble THPTA ligand further simplifies click chemistry byallowing the entire reaction to be run in water.
